Burnham, Emily. “The Other Maine” Bangor Daily News, March 30, 2009
“Their contributors come from all kinds of backgrounds. Aaron Mitchell, bassist for Belfast punk band Afghan Banana Stand, has some seriously hilarious and twisted drawings in the latest issue of Flannel, including the cover art.”
Dionne, Zack. “This is Maine” The Maine Campus, February 26, 2009
“Flannel is the kind of publication that embraces grit and grain honestly – there’s no irony in a contributor praising Steel Reserve, a lethal brew that has six-packs priced at next to nothing, as his favorite beer. Or the bassist of Belfast punk band Afghan Banana Stand saying he and the drummer couldn’t play their instruments when they joined the group – they learned as they went. Kind of like Flannel.”
The article was reprinted in the Kennebec Journal and the Morning Sentinel on March 22, 2009.
